GOOD SMALL CAR TO SMALL FOR ME

Best investment I have ever made
Saturday, December 26, 2020
Bought the Yaris from Hertz with 42k. A bit skeptic at first since I got it from a rental company. It has proven itself beyond any expectations. All I have ever done was to change the oil religiously. I made a living as a high tech consultant working for companies and clients in Richmond, Northern VA, MD (Gaithersburg/Rockville) and one way trip at times could be 3-4 hour trip via VA, DC and MD traffic in every season. I have 220K+ miles on it now and still runs well. This car is as tough as one can get. Have oil changes at Jiffy Lube, you can learn do light maintenance on bulbs/headlights, filter from Youtube, replaced the tires and have some brake + rotor work to pass state inspection. I may have seen a one instance of unintended acceleration but the car was on neutral at that point. Besides that worry, I have no issues whatsoever with this car.

Great little car

If image is more important than the wallet, you simply will not appreciate this car. This is the epitome of basic, reliable transportation. It’s easy to work on and 45-50mpg (especially freeway commutes in the summer) is attainable. If there’s a caveat, the Yaris doesn’t offer the greatest performance. The 5speed manual improves the driver experience, but don’t expect massive passing power on the freeway.
