2009 Audi A4

Saturday, March 13, 2021

Has been a decent vehicle . Has not been a issue like so many reviews I have read on this vehicle . I guess I'm one of the lucky ones out there . It is very peppy . Just wish I could get rid of the hesitation at take off . The only way I have found to do that from a stop is to put your foot on the gas peddle so it is already pulling some so that when you do take off it really goes . I recently purchased a 2001 Grand Marquis from a elderly friend that can no longer drives and it took me a bit to get use to the instant throttle response it has . I have to be careful or I'm lying rubber every time I take off . The Audi is peppy and has great brakes . Very good stereo as well . It is a tight ride which is good for corners . I don't regret buying it but I did buy it used . I'd not be as happy if I had purchased it new I can tell you . Repairs are insane . So I just try and do most of them myself .

The best car I’ve owned (so far)

Monday, June 29, 2020

This car does everything I need it to, when I need it to. Overtaking other cars is easy at any speed. The all-wheel-drive makes it perfect for northwest roads and the occasional snow. The sport package suspension handles really well, and seems to tighten up when accelerating through turns. The A4 also feels like it really yearns for high speeds (100+), and I’m sometimes surprised to look at the speedometer and see how fast I’m actually going on an open road. Prior to purchasing the car I had heard parts were expensive, but so far maintenance seems to be similar in cost to other vehicles I’ve owned in the past (maybe 5% more, but It’s not really noticeable, and I chalk that up to better quality). Perhaps that’s an old stigma from times when parts weren’t readily available online. Overall, this car looks, drives, and feels like it should. It’s a blast to drive.

One too many defects to keep.

Saturday, April 14, 2018

Bad wheel bearings at 28,000 and cracked intake manifold at 33,000 made me wary of keeping this vehicle after the warranty expired so I traded it for 2018 BMW 4 series grand coupe.
