When Hyundai decided to use the Ioniq nameplate on all its upcoming electric vehicles, the existing Ioniq model's fate was sealed. The model year 2022 was the final one for the Ioniq. Ioniq Hybrids came in a five-passenger hatchback configuration, equipped with a 139-hp hybrid powertrain giving it an EPA fuel-economy rating of 55 to 59 mpg. One thing that set the Ioniq Hybrid apart was its traditional automatic transmission instead of a continuously variable transmission, improving the driving sound and feel. Hyundai offered the 2022 Ioniq Hybrid in Blue, SE, SEL, and Limited trim levels. The car supplies 26.5 cu-ft of cargo space behind its back seat, and crash-test ratings are favorable.
