Depending on the vehicle and the size of your family, an SUV that seats seven passengers can be a great choice for large families. Even smaller families can benefit from these SUVs as the extra seating is great for carpooling and simply letting everyone spread out. While an SUV that seats seven can be roomy, not all offer second and third rows that are comfortable for adults for anything longer than a brief trip. Cargo capacity is also a consideration, especially behind the third row when you have a full load of passengers. The SUVs on our list have good standard features, roomy second and third rows to offer enough seating for everyone, and plenty of room for cargo.
Each of our choices had to meet the following criteria:
Towing: The SUV had to have a maximum tow rating of at least 5,000 lbs when properly equipped
Cargo: The SUV had to have a minimum of 85 cu.-ft. for cargo behind the front seats
Infotainment: The SUV had to have a screen size of at least 6.5 inches along with standard smartphone connectivity

1. 2022 Kia Telluride
The Kia Telluride is a reasonably priced and well-equipped SUV with standard features that include synthetic leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are also five USB ports, so everyone can stay charged, along with a one-touch slide-and-fold second row for easy third-row access.
The Telluride offers seating for up to eight people with optional second-row captain's chairs. There are 42.4 inches of legroom in the second row and 31.4 inches in the third row. Cargo room is also good with 21.0 cu.-ft. behind the third row, 46.0 cu.-ft. behind the second row, 87.0 cu.-ft. behind the first row, and a tow rating of 5,000 lbs properly equipped.
Volkswagen
2. 2022 Volkswagen Atlas
The Volkswagen Atlas has seating for seven people with standard dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, leatherette seating surfaces, 6.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and two USB ports. There's a sliding second-row bench seat that moves up to 7.7 inches. It also tilts and slides forward, even with an empty child seat in place, to facilitate access to the third row.
The Atlas is a roomy choice with 37.6 inches in the second row and 33.7 inches in the third row. It also has good room for cargo with 20.6 cu.-ft. behind the third row, 55.5 cu.-ft. behind the second row, and 96.8 cu.-ft. behind the first row. Properly equipped, the Atlas can tow up to 5,000 lbs.
